Olive Branch Family YMCA Aerobics Class Descriptions


   Step:

Class format is designed to instruct all levels on a step platform by performing various movements (drills, polymeric, sprints and combinations) that are sure to give you an excellent total body workout.

  Step n' Kick:

A cardio Class that involves step choreography and low impact kickboxing to give you a well rounded workout

  Cardio Blast:

A high energy, full body cardio workout which may include step, hi/lo, kickbox, spin and more. Sure to get your heart pumping.

   Zumba:

A FUN cardio workout incorporating unique dance moves with an international flair. This class is high energy but low impact.

   Cardio Training:

If step aerobics scares you, try this class that requires no coordination. Filled with push-ups, jumping jacks, and lots more to get a great full body workout.
   Spin:

Come experience this awesome ride.  This class simulates a real road bike ride.  All experience levels as well as fitness levels are welcome.  This is a great way to cross train.  Bring a water bottle and a small towel, because you will work up a sweat!

   Turbo Kick:

The Hottest Kickboxing class around. It combines Athletic moves and sports drills with a Hip/Hop flavor and so much more.

  Lift & Load:

 A rapid fat burning class involving the use of plated barbells.  Be prepared to sculpt the body, train the heart, and increase endurance with a total body workout
   Muscleworks:

This is a great muscular strength and endurance workout for the total body using dumbbells, dynabands and stability balls.

   On The Ball:

 A strength and core body workout performed on a stability ball.
   Back-2-Abs:

A short and sweet workout targeting the lower back and abdominal muscles-Challenging

   1/2 Pounder:

30 minute muscle work class designed to give you a great workout in just 30 minutes.

  Dance Lite:

This class is low impact and designed for members who wish to have fun while dancing at a low intensity.

  Pilates:

A core body workout that stresses balance, flexibility, good posture and muscle strength.

Family Muay Thai Boxing:

(Natl. sport of Thailand).  It is known as the art of eight limbs; using kicks, punches, knees and elbows.  This class is non-contact & good for the entire family.

   Yoga:

This class is a wonderful stress reliever that provides a total workout enhancing strength, balance and flexibility by uniting your body and breath. You are encouraged to work at your own level, and encouraged to bring your own mat.

   SilverSneakers® I:

Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement, and activity for daily living skills. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a ball are offered for resistance, and a chair is used for seated and/or standing support.

   SilverSneakers® Cardio Circuit:

This is an advanced class for participants who desire and are ready for a SilverSneakers cardio workout. It includes standing non-impact choreography designed to increase cardiovascular and muscular endurance alternated with standing upper body strength work

  Kid Fit:

 This class is for kids ages 5-12 years old and gets them moving and learning how fun exercising can be.  It will incorporate games, aerobic exercise, yoga, stretching, and a whole lot more!

  Treadmill Training:

Cardio class using fitness floor treadmills. Walking and/or jogging while simulating an outdoor workout. If you ever wanted to participate in a 5K race, this is the class for you. Good for ALL fitness levels. Class taken outside weather permitting.

  Any Class with "Lite":

Focusing more on the beginner level.
