F.A.Q's
(Frequently Asked Questions)
Why do I have to show my membership card each time
I use the facility?
Even though our member services staff may recognize you and greet you
by name, we must still scan your membership card to retain an accurate
record of our building usage, as well as for security and liability reasons.
Please have your card out and available as you enter the building.
When can my child 10 years and older
enter the wellness center ?
Due to liability and safety concerns, members must be 16 and older to
enter the Fitness and Wellness Center. However, after youth complete
Youth Strength Training and Conditioning I, they are given a card that
gives them access to work out in the main wellness center when accompanied
by a parent.
May I use my membership to visit other YMCA's in town?
Yes! We are part of the "Suburban Membership" which includes
our Mason, Davis, Scharff, Sweeney (St. Francis) and Millington YMCA's.
Your membership also includes 10 free visits per year to the Schilling
Farms and Fogelman Y's

May I use my membership to visit other YMCA's
in the U.S.?
Yes! We are in the AWAY Program -- on the back of your membership card
you will find an AWAY logo that stands for "Always Welcome At YMCA's." It
will be honored at nearly all 2,400 YMCAs across the country and abroad
at no charge (or a nominal visitor fee). Call 1-800-YMCA USA or visit the
National YMCA website at www.ymcausa.org for further information.
May I bring a guest with me to the Y?
Yes! YMCA members are encouraged to bring guests! Members must be 18 or
older to bring a guest, maximum 2 guests per visit. All guests are welcome
to 2 FREE visits and guests over the age of 16 must have a photo ID. After
the 2 FREE visits, the guest is encouraged to join the YMCA. |
